+ June~July Game Development Progress +【AirBoost: Sky Pilot】
Hello everyone!
Time flies so fast, July is almost over
Recently, I’ve been wanting to focus more on development
So let me share what I’ve been working on lately!!
And also do a quick review
(Currently developing Steam game: AirBoost: Sky Pilot - https://store.steampowered.com/app/2325390/AirBoost/

1. Save System Development & Completion
In the previous demo version, there were many systems that weren’t opened yet
Some were half-done, and some weren’t done at all
For example, the game save system
Previously, we had made an initial version, establishing the most basic programming functionality
Now we’ve improved it again
And integrated it into the game flow

Now the save function has been opened in the DEMO as well
The current V280 version has this feature
Later we adopted the design of going to save points in the scene
Currently, there’s not much explanation about saving, but we’ll add more descriptions about progress later
So players can understand at a glance
2. Shop System & Ability Enhancement
Initially, I wanted to create ability enhancement
That is, players can choose ability enhancements to enrich gameplay
And also increase the game’s error tolerance a bit

(The values and abilities are still a rough first version)
I thought why not make it into a shop
The game has space for it
Thinking about shops led to the currency system
Added a mechanism where defeating monsters also drops money
Before I knew it, it became quite big (X)
These elements… I’ve actually always wanted to add them XD
I wrote many ideas in the plan, but each had different priorities
And now compared to implementing features
Planning how to integrate them into the game is actually more troublesome
Currently, all feature prototypes are there, what remains is content arrangement
Now I’m gradually realizing the importance of planning!
3. Stage Creation
This part is also continuously in production
Combined with the aforementioned currency system, we’ll also create some side stages later
I often get stuck on this now
That is, many systems need sufficient content to support them
Stages and such need to be increased
At the same time, we’re also improving previous stages
Recently, I’ve been working on sky stages, which also appeared in the earliest promotional video
Improving them again according to current specifications
I’ll work hard to complete the main storyline first
I want to raise the overall completion and content volume of the game to another level
4. CG Illustrations
I’m happy to say that the game’s CG is basically all completed
I’m very grateful for artist Thirteen’s efforts in this part
Although we can’t show them yet
They’re really excellent
They should appear in the next new promotional video!
The person I’m most grateful to in this game development is Thirteen
They spent a lot of thought and time
Being able to work with Thirteen is the most valuable thing in this project
It also makes me want to make the game even better!!
5. Game Hint Enhancement
This is also based on optimizing the previous DEMO
Enhanced operation hints, in most operation environments
There will be corresponding operation instructions in the lower right corner

Of course, modifying keys and using a gamepad will also change the instructions
They’re dynamic instructions

The key remapping function also added recording
It will be recorded locally
And when opening the game for the first time, you can choose between two keyboard operation styles
Providing a quick modification opportunity
(Changing keys one by one is too tiring! >_<)

I hope these improvements will make the experience better
So everyone can focus as much as possible on the game content
6. Promotion & Events
The past few months have also spent a lot of energy on promotion and events
I want to expand ways to expose the game
Currently mainly focusing on Europe and America
This was completely zero before. My approach is
To learn from local developers
For example, overseas
It’s great to go to the How To Market A Game Discord group
There are overseas or English-speaking indie game developers there
Everyone has game promotion needs
You can refer to their methods
Currently, I’ve initially opened up overseas traffic
This makes me quite happy
Starting to reach some players
I should also write dedicated articles to share later
At the same time, there’s also progress in Taiwan
I’m very grateful to many friends, whether developers, YouTubers, or Taiwan VTubers
For example, recently Hoshino Sakura also played the DEMO livestream

And mentioned the articles and website I wrote

This kind of interaction feels great
In the future, I also want to do more for Taiwan VTubers and Taiwan’s development community

Recently, my focus has returned to pushing development progress
I hope to significantly raise the game’s completion level
Many people have noticed that the game has changed to Q4 2025 on STEAM now
It’s a goal I set for myself
