Hello! KO from FilterGame here = w = /

Today I’m sharing my hands-on impressions of the Steam demo for
“Lami: A Cup of Code and Coffee” by Taiwanese developer Remister.

☕ Game Overview

You inherit your grandpa’s old café… and meet a beautiful android girl?!
Team up with the adorable robot Lami to run the shop,
develop quirky gadgets, tackle daily challenges, and slowly uncover her secrets.

Lami: A Cup of Code and Coffee — in-game scene

Right from the start, the vibe is cozy and heartwarming.
The heroine “Lami” is simply too cute—
as a “loli-lover” player, that’s bonus points 😆

🧩 Demo Flow

Early-game screen
Heroine Lami appears

The heroine appears immediately after you begin.
The toon-shaded art is soft and charming,
and while interactions are simple, the atmosphere is spot-on and uplifting.

Shop management screen

Then it’s time to run the café.
Open the shop, brew drinks, earn money to pay off debt—
pick a daily menu and welcome customers: a classic management storyline.

On my first try I messed up the heat and set the coffee on fire (lol).
The same fire scene even appears on the official Steam page—
looks like a “rite of passage” for newcomers 🤣

💻 Programming × Rhythm × Management

Midway through the demo, a surprise “code-by-rhythm-game” segment pops up!
The UI is modeled after VSCode,
and as an engineer-type player I couldn’t help but grin.

Rhythm-coding gameplay

It’s not just a gag:
this mechanic ties the AI girl “Lami” directly to software development in the main plot.
Even within the demo’s small scope, you can feel the developer’s care.

The pacing is tight with varied presentation,
including moments of suspense and conflict—
clearly aiming for a fuller narrative experience beyond “relaxing shop sim.”

🌟 Verdict

“Lami: A Cup of Code and Coffee” blends
management, rhythm, growth, and story with an indie flair.
At first the many elements can feel scattershot,
but that very “indie-style boldness” becomes its charm.

The tone is gentle and cute,
and the “light sci-fi × cute girl × programming” theme feels fresh.
As a developer myself, this resonates a lot.

If this style speaks to you,
I recommend grabbing the Steam demo,
and let’s keep an eye on the full release together!
