released its Steam demo on 12/31 last year,
and you can download and play it right now!
At the same time, the developers have collaborated with multiple Taiwanese VTubers for livestream play sessions,
so even if you don’t have time to play it yourself, you can still experience the game’s appeal through streams.
Story Overview:
The game is set in a world where “nightmares × fairy tales” intertwine,
Players take on the role of the protagonist, Psyche,
and fight alongside fairy-tale-inspired companions,
including a scarecrow, a tin man, a lion, and Mr. Lamb.
Deep within a world corrupted by evil spirits,
Psyche faces overwhelming bosses and ever-changing bullet patterns,
and gradually uncovers the truth behind an ancient and sinister seal.
Gameplay Features
The core gameplay of The dream of Limbo focuses on:
Dive actions × bullet-hell evasion
In 2D platform stages,
dodging dense bullet patterns while using the terrain to counterattack
The overall structure leans toward a boss-rush format,
allowing players to freely select stages and challenge various bosses.
Defeating bosses grants new abilities,
which can be combined to create new “platform rules” and re-challenge stages.
The full release is expected to include:
19 stage bosses
3 unique companions that can be summoned for support
19 special ability-based platforms
The game offers both deep mechanics and a high level of challenge.
