Impressions from Japanese Online Game Expo MY GAME FES Vol.3

The third edition of the online indie game festival
“MY GAME FES”, hosted by Japanese developer Hoshizora Terumi,
officially kicked off yesterday!

This time, the event is held on the PICREA platform.
The festival runs from December 5th to December 7th,
featuring 59 indie games in total.
You can simply open the site in your browser and start wandering around the virtual booths—super convenient.

## Highlighted Games from the Event

Below are a few titles that caught my eye while browsing the show floor.
Let’s take a look together:

1. “Oh My? Landlady!”（おやおや？大家さん！）

Oh My? Landlady! gameplay
A mystery × exploration adventure game.
The story is divided into multiple chapters;
every time you enter a new chapter, the season, tenants, and ghost placements in the apartment change.
In each chapter, you must deduce which resident is actually the ghost in disguise,
collect evidence, and ultimately exorcise them.

The overall narrative revolves around the reason behind the yokai’s appearance
and the true intentions of a mysterious young man.

2. “Cthulhu Mythos Card Game ADV Erase-missing link-”

Erase -missing link- gameplay
A card-based adventure game with Lovecraftian / Cthulhu mythos elements.
There’s a rumor that if you reach the top rank in the card game “Erase,”
you’ll gain the ability to use “magic.”
While the protagonist challenges powerful opponents and deepens relationships
with classmates and townsfolk,
they gradually become entangled in a series of bizarre death incidents.

3. “RESIST FATE”

In this game, you play as a member of a rescue team,
moving through a city ravaged by a deadly plague,
treating the infected and trying your best to save lives.

4. The Real Face of a VTuber

A detective adventure set in the world of VTubers.

A murder takes place at the office of a popular VTuber’s agency.
Six employees who each possess a key to the office become suspects,
and multiple people even claim to be the VTuber’s real “avatar” (person behind the model).
They all insist they were “live on stream” at the time, using it as their alibi.

You play from the perspective of a prosecutor,
carefully examining contradictions to uncover the truth behind the case.

5. “Phantom Thief Meow Brothers”（怪盗 Meow ブラザーズ）

A simple and easy-to-pick-up puzzle game.
You clear blocks by aligning two or more of the same color vertically,
making for a very intuitive falling-blocks experience.

6. “City God Alice”（城隍愛麗絲）

A game with cultural and supernatural themes set in Jiantan, Taiwan.

The story weaves together history, folk religion, and ghost legends,
portraying the echoes of city god worship
amid changes in political power and eras.

7. “Fairy Magician of the Savior Party”（救世パーティの妖精術師様）

At first glance, this title looks like a classic fantasy RPG—
adventuring across maps and slaying monsters on a hero’s journey to save the world.

However, beneath that framework lies a dense layer of
“twisted love between adult men”,
making it a very unique combination of heroic fantasy and mature relationships.

8. “AirBoost Airship Knight”

AirBoost Airship Knight gameplay
A side-scrolling pixel action game filled with cute girls,
blending retro-style graphics with detailed character illustrations and story cutscenes.

In the ruins of an ancient civilization,
the protagonist meets an amnesiac girl named Agate,
and together they embark on a warm yet exciting adventure.

9. “Lami: A Cup of Code and Coffee"

Lami: Code & Coffee gameplay
A 3D casual game that mixes café management, rhythm gameplay,
and programming-themed elements.
The story follows your daily life running a café together with
the adorable AI girl Lami.

## Closing Thoughts

MY GAME FES Vol.3 is still ongoing at the time of writing.
You don’t need to leave your house or install a special client—
you can simply open the website and casually stroll through
a whole Japanese indie game exhibition online.
I discovered quite a few titles I probably wouldn’t have noticed otherwise.

If you’re interested in indie games, experimental concepts,
