Taipei Game Show 2026 Trip Report! Big Indie Game Highlights!

Taipei Game Show has been super lively these past few days, so I wanted to share a quick trip report from the event, along with some of the booths I saw on site!

Event Info
Dates: Jan 29 – Feb 1
Venue: Nangang Exhibition Center
The show features rich areas including games, indie games, board games, and more

Right after entering, you’ll see giant booths from major mobile and console game publishers.

Titles like Mingchao, Arknights: Endfield, Zenless Zone Zero, and more were there.
Nintendo also had a Super Mario 40th anniversary area, plus lots of Switch2 demos to try.

Trails in the Sky also had a huge presence.

But I personally rushed to the indie game area first.
On the way, I also spotted some爆火 Steam games,
like Palworld and Duckov.

After passing through several sections, I finally reached the small indie booths.

This time, it was very noticeable that
there were way more booths than last year.
There were also many more overseas teams—
Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and more all participated.

Even several Japanese publishers teamed up to run joint booths,
such as Shueisha Games.

There was also a joint area labeled “新世代集結 JAPAN,”
which was really interesting.

Seeing Japanese teams collectively coming overseas to exhibit
really made me feel that expanding internationally is becoming a shared goal for everyone.
It’s super important!

Below are some indie titles that left a strong impression on me.

1.Song of Morus: Limbo Express
Made by a Hong Kong developer.
A fresh 3D action game featuring 3D bullet hell + trains + Taoist themes.
Players can walk 360 degrees on top of a train,
using both melee and ranged attacks to push back enemies.
It felt very new and distinctive.

The booth also showed a GameBoy game developed by the creator—super cool.

2.Dress the Duel
A fashion / dress-up themed roguelike deckbuilder.
Your outfit is your armory!

3.The Touhou Empires
A high-quality Touhou Project fan-made RTS.
It blends elements from Age of Empires and Warcraft—
gathering, building, training units, and real-time battles.
And you can even control Touhou girls on the battlefield.

4.Menherarium
A deckbuilding roguelite set to release on 2/18.
A bold concept: gambling with blood inside a romantic cabin.
Very daring theme.

5.Voyage Router
A space exploration + randomized map strategy game
focused on finding the optimal航路.

6.AXERAS
A hardcore turn-based tactical RPG.
The battlefield atmosphere felt intense,
and the characters’ fates are in the player’s hands.

7.Maids of Storm
A pixel-art maid café management game.
You can freely decorate your shop and participate in maid competitions.

There were also many other unique booths and games.

By the end, I picked up a ton of promo cards and freebies.

Walking around the expo was super lively and fun!
