【Discussion】Looking Back at the October 2025 Steam Next Fest
The October 2025 Steam Next Fest has just wrapped up.
This time, I noticed many games and passionate players sharing about the event!
Let’s take a moment to reflect on what stood out.
1. What is Steam Next Fest?
Steam Next Fest is an official Steam event held three times a year,
featuring hundreds of new game demos for players to try!
Each game can only participate once—it’s truly a festival for new titles.
It’s also an important opportunity for developers
to gain exposure and collect valuable data.
Everyone’s preparation has become more thorough than ever!
(Game: Revolgear Zero)
2. The Power of the Community
This October event featured nearly 2,900 games!
To stand out among so many, developers must give it their all.
Many worked hard to promote their games, and countless Vtubers and friends helped spread the word.
Here are a few highlights worth mentioning.
The always Taiwan-friendly Hoshino Sakuraumi
Shot Paper Towel also compiled a great list this time
It’s easy to see this festival’s lineup at a glance — featuring titles like Flame Princess, Strange Illness Detective, and Red-Eye Ruby.
So many exciting games!
Chaidou Gulin also frequently streams Taiwanese games
Sharo from Planet Neighbor also streamed Strange Illness Detective this time
And I really like Magic Pudding-can — an incredibly talented creator!
I truly believe the game community ecosystem is essential.
Thanks to everyone who helps more people discover these games!
3. Game Highlights
As a creator, I’m always happy when people notice my work —
so I also love sharing other creators’ games!
Here are a few titles I played during this Next Fest.
Revolgear Zero
A retro-style shooter with a modern twist.
Great system and adorable characters!
Million Depth
A post-apocalyptic adventure about a girl exploring underground to find humanity.
Beautiful atmosphere and story — with stunning pixel art!
Cubic Annihilation
A real-time strategy game! I wanted to try it as soon as I saw it.
Sadly, there’s no Chinese support, but I still played a few matches.
It’s simplified but still thrilling!
The Real Face of a VTuber
A mystery game about the world of Vtubers.
As a Phoenix Wright fan, I quickly got hooked!
I haven’t finished it yet (lol), but I’ll write a full review later.
I really admire Lilien Studio — I hope to reach that level of maturity someday.
Battlethorne: Reckoning
A single-player battlefield game.
If you’ve ever played Fantasy Earth Zero, this will feel nostalgic!
The structure, classes, buildings, mining, and summons — everything feels inspired.
A bit rough, but full of passion!
AirBoost Airship Knight
A side-scrolling action game about a girl’s adventure in the skies.
We’re working hard to create a new experience — expanding systems and content.
We want players to feel something fresh and exciting!
That’s all for now!
Does anyone else feel like there are too many games to play? lol
But this new era of gaming feels incredibly exciting!
